Vulnerability and Growth
I could have done the easy thing and punked out, but I did the tough thing and just sucked it up. And little did I know that this individual might've been in this situation before, And so they extended some empathy, got out there and pushed with me. And I can also take the jokes and the jabs. That's what it's all about. It only gives you more foundation, more bonding and a funny sort of talk about during cocktails. I knew this in business. If you can make yourself vulnerable, my good friend, Anna, it makes you powerful. And that was one of the days I shed some skin and actually grew as a person.

I was enjoying a sunny day with my 1992 Volkswagen Cabriolet convertible but then all of a sudden it's the rainy season so you got to put the top up little did I know I forgot that I ran out of gas and so when I was going to take a client out to dinner on P cologne which is the main street all I had to do is go down one block make it right and I'm on the highway well did I know a quarter of a block there the car conks out what do I do I'm in a suit the guy's sitting next to me and I said listen I took my jacket off I go I'm gonna push this thing you mind sitting in the driver's seat and we'll get it to the gas station my buddy looks at me goes no man I'm taking my jacket off too getting out there and I'm going to help you push this oh my go are you serious he goes absolutely this never happens and so in the rain pushing it down Main Street cars of course hitting puddles on purpose just to soak me thank you beeping the works
all I know is when I pulled that thing into the gas station filled her up I'm looking at the guy I'm drenched suits ruined he looks at me and he goes listen just dropped me off at the hotel picked me up a half an hour later after our change we're still getting dinner and I was like my man and so don't kid yourself when things like this happen you get to see a certain side of you there's character during chaos Anna I could have done the easy thing and punked out but I did the tough thing and just sucked it up
little did I know that this individual might have been in this situation before and so they extended some empathy got out there and pushed with me and I can also take the jokes and the Jabs that's what it's all about it only gives you more Foundation more bonding and a funny story to talk about during cocktails oh oh yes yes I knew this in business if you can make yourself vulnerable hble my good friend Anna it makes you powerful and that was one of the days I shed some skin and actually grew as a person I love this phrase that you just said if you can make yourself vulnerable vulnerable it makes you powerful because yes we're not robots
I can see how that was a great bonding moment with your client still client to this day he's like hey what's up gas man I'm like thanks okay of course call me the gas man so uh that's just how it goes that's awesome and yeah I mean my biggest takeaway is yes you're doing business with your clients but you're also a human being and if they can see that it builds trust with them well I literally danced in the rain and they saw it and they saw what happened when the chips were down and a client's there and times's a ticking what do you do well you step up to the plate you do what you think is best and and you can laugh a minute because if you can laugh it lets off so much Steam and I went from like a 10 to a two and I took that eight and I used that to push my car but uh it's not the point the point is we're not perfect we don't b a thousand
I think if you get a scar and you're proud of it or if there is an experience that you grew from it then it only makes you better person and so I'm more than happy to talk to you and your tens of thousands of amazing fans and spilling my guts I'm letting you know that it happened to me and it may me today you tomorrow so just be prepared you know some of these things do come up and uh when you do it just capture it drink life enjoy it and then you get to get on Anna's amazing show and tell your story about it fantastic thanks so much for that so Richard who do you serve and how can those people find you well I got a huge Facebook fan page of 137,000 local Costa Rican tikos once this goes live you have so much new fans but it also gives your audience a chance a grasp of the business process Outsourcing industry in Central America North of Panama south of Nicaragua only Democratic Society in Central America no standing army so we have a 95% literacy rate in education Amazon HP Intel oror here and we're known for ecotourism so it's a great place to be and I've been here the last 24 years that's awesome thank you so much to Our Guest Richard blank for coming in and sharing his story about how in a suit and out of gas he pushes car in the rain and even his client help there great bonding moment.

A 2-Minute Gut Check – Featuring Richard Blank
A 2-Minute Gut Check – Featuring Richard Blank
Hey, Bob here!
Most people stick to the path laid out for them.
Richard Blank had other plans.
He could have stayed in the family real estate business—
comfortable, predictable, secure. Instead, he took a one-way ticket to
Costa Rica, thinking it would be a two-month adventure.
He never left.
Why? Because comfort wasn’t the goal.
Growth was.
That meant sleeping on floors when he had no money,
learning a new language by making mistakes,
and figuring things out the hard way.
He wasn’t scared of failing—he was scared of never trying.
Just like the message behind Get Comfortable Being Uncomfortable,
Richard’s story is proof that the biggest risks often lead to the biggest rewards.
From a Leap of Faith to Lifelong Success
Richard didn’t have a safety net. He had a choice—
Play it safe or bet on himself.
He chose the second option, and it changed his life.
At 27, he walked away from an easy future and moved to Costa Rica
to work at a call center. But he didn’t just work there—
he studied everything about the industry, learning the business from the inside out.
When the time came, he took another risk: starting his own company.
Now, he’s built one of the most successful call centers in Costa Rica,
leading with integrity, relationships, and an unshakable belief in personal growth.
Lessons from Richard’s Journey
1. Take notes—literally
Most people forget details. Richard wrote everything down. It set him apart in business and built relationships that lasted.
2. Your network is your advantage
He knew people would remember him not for what he said, but for how he made them feel. Relationships built his career.
3. Comfort is overrated
A predictable life sounded like a slow death. Taking risks—even when the future was unclear—was what made the adventure worth it.
Why Richard’s Story Matters
Success isn’t about luck—it’s about betting on yourself and putting in the work. Richard turned uncertainty into opportunity. So can you.
Because the real turning point isn’t when things get easier— it’s when you decide to move forward anyway.
Until next time,
Bob
Bob Molle, a two-time Grey Cup Champion, Olympic medalist, and leadership coach, empowers leaders and teams to get comfortable being uncomfortable—unlocking resilience, strengthening relationships, and driving peak performance.
Through high-energy keynotes and interactive workshops, Bob delivers actionable strategies that help leaders, sales teams, and organizations embrace challenges, adapt to change, and perform under pressure. His message is rooted in the philosophy of his book, Get Comfortable Being Uncomfortable (GCBU), a guide to overcoming obstacles and thriving in uncertain environments. The world is full of people who peaked at a young age and slowly faded into mediocrity. Barstools around the globe are occupied by former athletes, musicians, and artists re-living their former glories. Bob Molle is different. And he makes a difference.

Hustle Behind the CEO Title
But to build a life aligned with your values and not necessarily society expectations, to me, that's even more something to admire. So now you are the CEO of Costa Rica's call center, seven-figure business, right? You employ about 150 people. Is that correct? That is 100 percent correct. And how nice to be a CEO and to, as you say, build something. And that's fine. I mean, when you when you've accomplished it, you're satisfied, you're proud and you're fulfilled. But a lot of the people don't see the grind. And so real quick. When I first started, I started a website in the 4th of 2007. And then I landed my first account February 6th of 2008. It was only one seat. But I didn't have the building. I didn't have the computers, the stations, or even really the employees. And so I was renting a turnkey station at a blended call center, like renting a seat on an airplane. And so I did that for two years where I could pay the overhead, the person's salary and make my margin. And so was it glamorous? No, but it was beautiful. Kind of like the first gym you join, you know, you get the gritty.
Finding True Connection After Starting Over
I want you to imagine listeners packing up your life, saying goodbye to everything familiar and moving to a new country to build a life aligned with your values. Because if you think it's plug and play and it's easy like they show in Hollywood, you're out of your mind. If there's not a problem that day, then it's not right. You always got to find something each day to make sure you're on your toes. Did you find anyone laughing at you? Because I did. People laughed at me. I got a feeling they laugh all the time. And I don't have hair anymore, so they laugh twice. But you know what, my good friend, when you walk into a room, honorable intentions and good faith, you could be the person that only knows two vocabulary words, but that smile and your hand gestures and your body language and really just trying to be there in the moment to feel the energy. Some of your best friends are made when you see them when they're most vulnerable, and it depends on how you treat them. Your true people will be with you.
From Failure to Paying It Forward
No, and I also learned something about leadership as well. There were a lot of people that gave up on me, certain administrators of that school, and they were kind of hard on a 13-year-old. And I don't think it was very appropriate. And the funniest thing is I failed my Spanish class and Senor Casa, I speak Spanish now. So you and me, I fail English too. But it's the way that the teacher and my Spanish teacher in seventh grade made fun and made me feel terrible while my... High school Spanish teacher, Dona Esperanza-Galchak from Venezuela, she wrote me a college recommendation letter. And she was the one that was instrumental in my career by saying, Richie, you love this. Why don't you study this? Why don't you do this in college? And I was the only one. And check this out, Rosabelle. Even to this day, I have a Becca. I have a second language scholarship that I do for a graduating senior at the Abington Senior High School. And I've been doing it for close to 10 years.
The Freedom of Aging Gracefully
we're aging gracefully and the older we get, Rosabelle, my friend, you know this. There are certain things that make you even more satisfied and you start shedding weight, mental weight. Things that would hold you back from being the best and the brightest. Isn't it nice? It's like unpacking big bags into smaller piles. It's more manageable. And you have priorities in your time. And I guess the little things that affected you earlier just don't really make a difference anymore. You become much happier that way.

My Core Values
At the heart of everything I do lies a set of core values that guide my work, my relationships, and my personal journey. These values shape how I approach life and my professional endeavors, from healthcare and podcasting to coaching and writing. They are a reflection of who I am and how I strive to make a positive impact in the world.
Empathy and Compassion
I believe that understanding and caring for others is essential to fostering meaningful connections. Whether I’m providing healthcare, guiding someone through life coaching, or hosting my podcast, I prioritize listening with empathy and offering compassionate support. I aim to create a space where individuals feel heard, valued, and supported in their journeys, no matter how big or small the challenge.
Integrity
Integrity is the foundation of everything I do. I am committed to being honest, transparent, and staying true to my values. Whether in my healthcare practice, podcasting, or writing, I make sure my actions align with my words. I take pride in building trust with my clients, guests, and audience, knowing that integrity strengthens every relationship and decision I make.
Resilience
Life is unpredictable, and I’ve learned that resilience is key to turning challenges into growth opportunities. My journey, from immigrating to the U.S. without knowing English to navigating various career transitions, has taught me the power of resilience. I encourage others to view obstacles as opportunities for learning and growth, and to approach life’s difficulties with strength and determination.
Growth and Self-Improvement
I am dedicated to continuous learning and self-improvement, both for myself and for those I work with. Through my podcast, writing, and healthcare practice, I strive to inspire personal growth and transformation. I believe that embracing change and being open to learning allows us to unlock our true potential and lead more fulfilled lives.
Authenticity
Authenticity is the core of my work and relationships. I believe in showing up as my true self and encouraging others to do the same. Whether in my podcast, coaching, or daily interactions, I aim to be genuine, vulnerable, and real. I encourage others to embrace their unique qualities and live authentically, knowing that this is the key to personal freedom and fulfillment.
Community and Connection
Building strong, supportive communities is essential to navigating life’s transitions. I believe in the power of human connection to create lasting change. Through my podcast, healthcare practice, and coaching, I work to foster a sense of belonging and support for individuals who are navigating challenges, creating an environment where everyone feels connected, understood, and empowered.
Empowerment
Empowering others to take control of their lives and make informed decisions is a core value I hold dear. Whether I’m coaching someone through a career shift, offering guidance on healthcare decisions, or providing a platform for people to share their stories on my podcast, my goal is to inspire others to embrace their own power and confidence. I provide the tools, insights, and encouragement needed to help others step into their full potential.
Honesty
Honesty is at the core of building trust and fostering meaningful relationships. I believe in being transparent, open, and truthful in all aspects of my life and work. Whether in conversations with my clients, interviews on my podcast, or interactions with my audience, I prioritize honesty and authenticity. It is through honesty that we build strong connections and grow together.
These core values define who I am, how I work, and how I engage with the world. They are the compass that guides my interactions, my choices, and my mission to inspire others to embrace their true selves, overcome challenges, and live life to the fullest.

Core Values
